1. What is covered
New one-trip containers come with a 12-month structural warranty from the date of delivery, covering defects in materials and workmanship: failure of welds, structural members or corner castings, perforation of the roof, walls or floor that is not the result of impact, and door gear or gaskets that fail to seal in normal use.
Every unit we sell as wind and water tight, at any grade, carries our guarantee that it is dry inside on delivery. That is a condition of sale, not a time-limited warranty, and it is why we ask you to stand inside with the doors shut and look for daylight before you sign.

|---|---|
| One-trip (new) container, structure and welds | 12 months |
| One-trip container, door gear and gaskets | 12 months |

| Refrigeration units on working reefers | Manufacturer or depot warranty, stated on the unit's page |
| Fitted modifications (doors, HVAC, insulation, electrical) | 12 months on the installation and the component |
2. What is not covered
- surface rust, dents, scratches, patched repairs, mismatched paint and faded shipping markings — these are normal characteristics of a used freight container and are part of what each grade describes;
- corrosion that develops after delivery, which is a function of climate, siting and maintenance;
- water entering through an opening you or a third party cut, drilled or bolted;
- damage from setting the unit on an unlevel or inadequate base, which racks the frame and misaligns the doors;
- damage caused by moving, lifting or dragging the unit after delivery, or by overloading the floor;
- impact, vandalism, fire, flood, storm or other external events;
- floor wear, staining and fastener loss through normal use;
- any unit that has been cut, welded or structurally modified by anyone other than us;
- cosmetic condition on units bought at a used grade.
3. Siting and maintenance
Cover assumes the unit is set level on an adequate base — piers, blocks or railroad ties under the corner castings — with drainage away from the box and airflow underneath. A container sitting directly on soil or in standing water will rust from the underside, and that is excluded. Keeping the roof clear of pooled water and debris, and touching up paint where it is scraped through to bare steel, are the owner's responsibility.
4. Making a claim
- Email hello@containerden.com with your order reference, the delivery date, a description of the problem, and photographs. For a suspected leak, photograph the inside with the doors closed and the lights off, so the daylight shows.
- We will assess from the photographs, and send someone to look at the unit where that is not conclusive.
- Where the claim is accepted we repair the unit on your site wherever that is practical, because moving a container is expensive and disruptive.
- Where a site repair cannot restore the unit, we replace it or refund it, including the original delivery charge, and collect the original at our cost.
Please keep your proof of purchase — the order confirmation email is enough.
5. Your legal rights
A warranty is in addition to your legal rights, not instead of them. Nothing in this policy limits any right you have under applicable federal or state consumer protection law, including any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose that your state does not permit us to disclaim. See our returns and refunds policy for the inspection window and the remedies available when a unit does not match the grade it was sold at.
6. Permits, zoning and intended use
Cover assumes the unit is used as a storage or freight container, or as the modified structure we supplied it as. Placing a container on your land is frequently regulated: many jurisdictions treat it as a structure and require a permit, a setback from boundaries, a specific foundation, or prohibit it in some zones altogether, and HOA rules may restrict it further. Obtaining any permission needed is the buyer's responsibility, and we cannot refund or collect a unit because a permit was refused after delivery. Check with your local building department before you order.
